Published

Exxon Mobil Corporation reported $116.02 billion in total revenues and other income for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 42.3% from a year earlier, and net income attributable to ExxonMobil of $14.53 billion, up 105.1%, or $3.48 per diluted share. The improvement came from market conditions rather than from any acquisition: sharply higher industry refining margins lifted Energy Products earnings to $5.46 billion from $1.37 billion, while higher crude realizations lifted Upstream earnings to $7.93 billion from $5.40 billion, with Guyana and Permian volume growth offsetting lower Middle East volumes, though a large share of the Energy Products increase came from derivative timing effects the company expects to reverse in later periods. Operating cash flow was $23.55 billion, up 103.9%, and shortly after the quarter closed a redomiciliation reorganization made ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation, a Texas corporation, the successor registrant, with each share exchanged one for one and the New York Stock Exchange listing continuing under the ticker XOM.

Schema noteIntegrated oil and gas template, matching the schema this company's previous quarterly record used: the income statement runs revenue lines into a single 'total costs and other deductions' block with no gross profit or cost-of-goods-sold line, so the record carries the cost lines the company actually prints, plus segment earnings, upstream and downstream volumes, and the shareholder-distribution and cash-capital-expenditure measures the company stewards.

Successor issuer noteEffective July 1, 2026 ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation, a Texas corporation, became the publicly traded parent of the ExxonMobil group and the successor registrant of Exxon Mobil Corporation's common stock, following a redomiciliation reorganization in which each Exxon Mobil Corporation share was exchanged for one ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation share. Both filings this record is built on - the FY2025 10-K (accession 0000034088-26-000045) and the second-quarter 2026 10-Q (accession 0000034088-26-000093) - cover periods that ended before the reorganization took effect. The company states the reorganization did not change its consolidated business, operations, assets, liabilities or financial reporting basis, so every period below is directly comparable with the periods that precede it.

Line items such as receivables, inventories and current liabilities are not presented for 2023 in this filing and are therefore omitted rather than estimated.

NoteThese trailing-twelve-month figures are arithmetic combinations of reported periods, not amounts the company itself presents. Diluted earnings per share is the reported full-year 2025 amount plus the first six months of 2026 less the first six months of 2025, and will not exactly equal trailing net income divided by a current share count.

Notes

  • All dollar amounts in this file are stated in actual dollars. Every statement in the FY2025 10-K (accession 0000034088-26-000045) and the second-quarter 2026 10-Q (accession 0000034088-26-000093) is presented in millions of dollars, and share counts in those statements are presented in millions of shares; both were scaled up to whole units here. The one exception is the 10-Q cover page, which states shares outstanding in whole shares (4,111,911,960 at June 30, 2026), and that figure is carried through unscaled.
  • This record holds exactly the periods those two filings put on their face: fiscal years 2025, 2024 and 2023 from the 10-K, and the second quarters of 2026 and 2025, the first six months of 2026 and the first six months of 2025 from the 10-Q. The three annual periods were confirmed line by line against the same 10-K columns before being carried forward from the company's previous quarterly record, and nothing in them changed. The first quarters of 2026 and 2025 are not printed in these filings and are therefore not in this record; they remain published in the record for that quarter.
  • The issuer restated nothing. The 10-Q's statement of changes in equity opens the second quarter of 2026 at an ExxonMobil share of equity of $254,381 million, exactly the closing figure of the first quarter of 2026, and the first six months of 2025 less the second quarter of 2025 reproduces the first quarter of 2025 as previously reported ($160,535 million less $79,477 million of sales and other operating revenue gives $81,058 million). Prior periods were neither recast nor reclassified.
  • Second-quarter 2026 sales and other operating revenue of $114.5 billion, against $79.5 billion a year earlier, is a market and margin effect rather than an acquisition. The 10-Q reports no business combination in the period; total assets moved only from $464.4 billion at March 31, 2026 to $464.5 billion at June 30, 2026. The company attributes the step-up to unprecedented global refining capacity reductions and Middle East supply disruptions, which lifted its indicative refining margin to $29.0 per barrel from $16.3 in the first quarter, and to higher crude realizations, which rose to $97.58 per barrel in the United States from $70.12 in the first quarter. Upstream earnings drivers name a $4,650 million price benefit and Energy Products a $3,180 million margin benefit for the quarter.
  • The rise in depreciation and depletion to $8,689 million from $6,101 million a year earlier includes $1,079 million of impairments, most of it in the non-U.S. Energy Products business; the line is captioned 'Depreciation and depletion (includes impairments)'.
  • ExxonMobil states that basic and diluted earnings per share are the same in every period presented, so the single reported per-share figure is recorded as both. Likewise there is one weighted-average share count per period rather than separate basic and diluted counts. The counts used here come from Note 2, Earnings Per Share, in each filing.
  • 'Revenue' is ambiguous for this company because the income statement runs three lines into a total. Both are reported: 'sales_and_other_operating_revenue' (the operating top line, $114.5 billion in the second quarter of 2026) and 'total_revenues_and_other_income' (which adds income from equity affiliates and other income, $116.0 billion). The segment note reconciles to the latter, and so does the 'Revenues' concept in the SEC's XBRL company facts.
  • No gross profit or cost-of-goods-sold line is shown because ExxonMobil's income statement does not present one; it runs a single 'Total costs and other deductions' block. The largest single cost line is crude oil and product purchases.
  • Segment earnings are ExxonMobil's share after excluding amounts attributable to noncontrolling interests, combined across the U.S. and non-U.S. columns the filings present. The four segments plus Corporate and Financing reconcile exactly to consolidated net income attributable to ExxonMobil in every period shown.
  • The 10-Q's cash flow statement presents the six months ended June 30 only; it has no three-month column. The three-month operating cash flow, additions to property plant and equipment, asset-sale proceeds, additional investments and advances, cash capital expenditures and cash flow from operations and asset sales shown for the second quarters of 2026 and 2025 are taken from the tables inside that same 10-Q's Management's Discussion and Analysis, which do print a three-month column, and so carry the 10-Q's accession. Three-month totals for net cash used in investing activities and net cash used in financing activities are not presented anywhere in the filings, and are left blank rather than derived by subtraction.
  • 'capex_additions_to_property_plant_and_equipment' and the free cash flow derived from it are the cash-flow-statement figure, and free cash flow here is operating cash flow less that figure. ExxonMobil separately presents its own free cash flow measure, which also nets additional investments and advances, other investing activity and asset-sale proceeds; that measure is carried as 'free_cash_flow_company_definition' and was $17,236 million for the second quarter of 2026 against the $17,028 million shown here. The company also presents 'cash capital expenditures', a third figure that adds additional investments and advances and other investing activity to the cash-flow capex line, shown here as 'cash_capital_expenditures_non_gaap' ($6,787 million in the quarter).
  • Adjusted earnings, adjusted earnings per share, identified items and estimated timing effects are the company's own non-GAAP measures and come from the second-quarter 2026 earnings release and investor data summary furnished on Form 8-K (accession 0002115436-26-000006); each period's block carries that accession. Adjusted earnings exclude both identified items and estimated timing effects, which are the mark-to-market swings on unsettled derivatives whose physical shipments have not yet been recognized. Second-quarter 2026 identified items were a net $2,638 million charge, including $1,079 million of impairments and $1,365 million of additions to financial reserves, while estimated timing effects added $2,483 million.
  • Total debt is the sum of notes and loans payable and long-term debt from the balance sheet, matching the company's own definition. At June 30, 2026 that is $10,139 million plus $32,229 million, and the 10-Q describes the total as $42.4 billion.
  • Second-quarter share repurchases of $5,139 million are the six-month 'Common stock acquired' figure in the cash flow statement ($10,007 million) less the amount already reported for the first quarter of 2026 ($4,868 million), on the same cash basis the annual and first-quarter figures use. The earnings release independently describes second-quarter repurchases as $5.1 billion and total second-quarter shareholder distributions as $9.4 billion, against the $9,438 million recorded here. The same method gives $4,964 million for the second quarter of 2025. The statement of changes in equity's 'share repurchases, at cost' line differs slightly ($4,994 million in the second quarter of 2026) because it is measured at cost of shares retired rather than cash paid in the period.
  • Book value per share at June 30, 2026 ($63.08) is ExxonMobil's share of equity of $259,380 million divided by the 4,111,911,960 shares outstanding stated on the 10-Q cover; the company does not publish a per-share equity figure in the 10-Q. The annual book values per share are as reported in the FY2025 10-K's Financial Information table.
  • The company reported cumulative structural cost savings of $16.3 billion against 2019, including $1.2 billion added in the first six months of 2026, and guides to 2026 capital investment of $27 billion to $29 billion. It declared a third-quarter dividend of $1.03 per share payable September 10, 2026.

Uncertainties

  • Only the latest annual report and the latest quarterly report were used, so annual history is limited to the three years those statements present (2025, 2024 and 2023 for the income statement and cash flow) and balance-sheet history to the two years the balance sheet presents (2025 and 2024), supplemented for 2023 by the summary tables inside the same annual report. Fiscal 2022 and earlier are not covered, and the first quarters of 2026 and 2025 are not covered here because these filings do not print them.
  • The 2023 balance sheet is partial. Receivables, inventories, current assets, current liabilities, deferred tax liabilities and total liabilities for 2023 are not presented anywhere in the FY2025 10-K and were left out rather than estimated.
  • The 2023 non-GAAP cash capital expenditures figure is not disclosed in the FY2025 10-K, which shows that measure only for 2025 and 2024; it is recorded as unavailable.
  • No three-month figure for net cash used in investing activities or net cash used in financing activities exists in either filing, so those fields are blank for the second quarters of 2026 and 2025. They could only have been produced by subtracting the first quarter from the six-month total, which is not a reported amount.
  • Second-quarter share repurchases and total shareholder distributions are differences between the reported six-month cash figure and the reported first-quarter cash figure rather than amounts printed for the quarter. They agree with the rounded amounts the earnings release states.
  • There is no balance sheet for the second quarter of 2025. The 10-Q's balance sheet presents June 30, 2026 and December 31, 2025 only, so that comparative quarter carries an income statement, segment earnings, cash flow, volumes and distributions but no balance-sheet block.
  • The trailing-twelve-month block is derived arithmetic rather than a reported period. Its per-share figure in particular combines reported per-share amounts across periods with different share counts and should be treated as approximate.
  • Book value per share at June 30, 2026 is a calculation, not a reported figure. It divides ExxonMobil's share of equity by period-end shares outstanding, which is the same method the company uses annually but is not disclosed in the 10-Q itself.
  • Second-quarter 2026 results contain unusually large offsetting non-operational items - a $2,638 million net charge from identified items against a $2,483 million favourable swing from estimated timing effects, the latter of which the company expects to unwind in later periods. Segment earnings for the quarter, particularly Energy Products, are therefore a poor guide to run-rate profitability, and the same caution applies to the very large sequential and year-over-year moves in refining margins and crude realizations that drove the quarter.
  • The quarterly cash flow statement in the 10-Q is condensed: it collapses working-capital movements and other adjustments into two summary lines, so a full reconciliation of net income to operating cash flow is not available from that filing.
  • The second-quarter shares-repurchased count of 33 million is the figure printed in the 10-Q's common stock share activity table, which is stated in millions of shares and therefore rounded; the six-month count the filing gives elsewhere is 66.7 million.

FAQ · Exxon Mobil financial statements

How much did ExxonMobil earn in Q2 FY2026?

Exxon Mobil Corporation reported net income attributable to ExxonMobil of $14.53 billion for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, or $3.48 per diluted share. That is up 105.1% from $7.08 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.

What was ExxonMobil's revenue in Q2 FY2026?

ExxonMobil reported $116.02 billion in total revenues and other income for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 42.3% from $81.51 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.

Why did ExxonMobil's earnings rise in Q2 FY2026?

ExxonMobil's second-quarter increase came from market conditions rather than from an acquisition. Industry refining margins ran sharply above their ten-year range and lifted Energy Products earnings to $5.46 billion from $1.37 billion a year earlier, while higher crude realizations lifted Upstream earnings to $7.93 billion from $5.40 billion, with Guyana and Permian volume growth offsetting lower Middle East volumes. Favorable derivative timing effects contributed nearly as much to the Energy Products increase as the margin gain itself, and the company expects them to unwind in later periods, so that segment is a poor guide to run-rate profitability.

How much cash flow did ExxonMobil generate in Q2 FY2026?

ExxonMobil generated $23.55 billion of cash flow from operating activities in Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 103.9% from $11.55 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.

When does Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) next file with the SEC?

Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) is expected to file its next Form 10-Q with the SEC on or around November 2, 2026. That date is a projection rather than a company-announced date: it is derived from Exxon Mobil Corporation's own filing history with the SEC, by taking the date the company filed the same fiscal period a year earlier and adding 52 weeks. The most recent periodic report on file is the 10-Q for Q2 FY2026, the period ended 2026-06-30, SEC accession 0000034088-26-000093.

How this page was built

This page was built from three of Exxon Mobil Corporation's own filings with the SEC, read one at a time. Nothing on it is taken from a pre-tagged dataset, a data vendor or another website. The figures are on the company's own fiscal calendar and in actual dollars, as the filings report them. Where the filings do not support a figure, the record says so instead of reporting a zero; this period names 11 such gaps.

A single company files thousands of pages with the SEC in a year, and no two companies file them the same way, so the reading and the assembly here are done by AI rather than by rules that break on the differences. Every pass is then audited back against the filings it came from before the page is published, and anything the filings do not support is left out and named rather than filled in. AI can still make mistakes. That is why the accession numbers are printed: the filing is the authority, and this page is a route to it.
