Notes

  • Business type: NVIDIA is an accelerated-computing semiconductor and systems company, so the standard product-company template (revenue, cost of revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income, EPS; cash, debt, assets, equity; operating cash flow, capital expenditures, free cash flow, dividends) is the right frame. Because results are dominated by one end market, the reportable-segment, market-platform and geographic revenue splits from the segment notes are reported alongside the standard lines.
  • All annual figures come from the fiscal 2026 Form 10-K (accession 0001045810-26-000021), which presents three years of income statement and cash flow data (fiscal 2026, 2025 and 2024) and two years of balance sheet data (January 25, 2026 and January 26, 2025). These figures are unchanged from those NVIDIA has previously reported for the same three years; nothing has been restated.
  • All quarterly figures come from the Form 10-Q for the quarter ended July 26, 2026 (accession 0001045810-26-000075). Its income statement prints four columns - the three months and six months ended July 26, 2026 and the same two periods a year earlier. The two three-month columns are the quarterly entries above; the two six-month columns are reported separately as the year-to-date and prior-year-to-date views, because a six-month figure is not a quarter.
  • The 10-Q's cash flow statement is presented only for the six-month periods. The three-month cash flow figures shown for the quarter ended July 26, 2026 are derived by subtracting the amounts reported for the first quarter of fiscal 2027 (Form 10-Q for the quarter ended April 26, 2026, accession 0001045810-26-000052) from the six-month column, except for stock-based compensation and dividends paid, which the 10-Q reports directly for the three-month period in Note 2 and in its statement of shareholders' equity. For the quarter ended July 27, 2025 only the lines that this subtraction produces cleanly are shown; the remainder are omitted rather than published with rounding drift, because each reported column is rounded to the nearest million.
  • Capital expenditures use the cash flow statement line 'Purchases related to property and equipment and intangible assets.' NVIDIA separately reports 'Principal payments on property and equipment and intangible assets' within financing activities - $92 million in the first half of fiscal 2027 and $73 million in the first half of fiscal 2026, of which $59 million fell in the second quarter of fiscal 2027 - and those financed-purchase payments are not included in the capital expenditure figures above. Free cash flow in this report is operating cash flow less capital expenditures, applied the same way in every period shown. NVIDIA's own free cash flow measure also deducts those principal payments and is therefore slightly lower: NVIDIA reports free cash flow of $21,341 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, $69,895 million for the first half of fiscal 2027 and $39,584 million for the first half of fiscal 2026 (second-quarter fiscal 2027 results release and CFO commentary furnished on Form 8-K, accession 0001045810-26-000073, which is also the source of the $59 million quarterly amount).
  • Total debt is the sum of short-term and long-term debt from the balance sheet and matches the net carrying amount of the senior notes in the debt note: $33,366 million at July 26, 2026 and $8,468 million at January 25, 2026. In June 2026 NVIDIA issued $25.0 billion of senior unsecured notes across seven tranches for general corporate purposes, which is why long-term debt rose from $7,469 million to $32,366 million during the first half. Total debt excludes operating lease liabilities. The commercial paper program has $25.0 billion of capacity with nothing outstanding.
  • Revenue of $96,221 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2027 was up 106% from the year-ago quarter, and first-half revenue of $177,837 million was up 96%. Gross margin was 75.0% in the quarter against 72.4% a year earlier, and 75.0% for the first half against 66.6%; the first-half comparison is widened by the $4.5 billion charge for H20 excess inventory and purchase obligations that NVIDIA recorded in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.
  • Second-quarter net income of $59,688 million includes $7,771 million of net gains on equity securities, and first-half net income of $118,010 million includes $23,707 million of such gains, most of which are unrealized. Operating income - $63,734 million for the quarter and $117,270 million for the first half - is the better measure of operating performance.
  • The fiscal 2026 10-K's income statement separates interest income, interest expense and other income, net on its face, so the annual entries carry those three lines plus their total. The 10-Q shows a single 'Other income, net' line on the face of its income statement and breaks it into interest income, interest expense, gains from equity securities, net, and other in the notes; the quarterly and cumulative entries use that four-way split. 'total_other_income_net' means the same thing - total non-operating income, net - in every period.
  • NVIDIA renamed and split two balance-sheet investment lines between the two filings, so the annual and quarterly entries carry different names for them. The fiscal 2026 10-K prints a single current-asset line, 'Marketable securities' ($51,951 million at January 25, 2026 and $34,621 million at January 26, 2025), which the annual entries carry as 'marketable_securities'. The 10-Q splits the same holdings into 'Marketable debt securities' and 'Marketable equity securities' ($34,143 million and $42,783 million at July 26, 2026), which the quarterly entry carries as 'marketable_debt_securities' and 'marketable_equity_securities'; the 10-Q's split of the January 25, 2026 column, $39,065 million and $12,886 million, adds back to the 10-K's $51,951 million. Likewise the 10-K's non-current 'Non-marketable equity securities' ($22,251 million and $3,387 million) is 'non_marketable_equity_securities' in the annual entries, while the 10-Q's renamed 'Non-marketable securities' ($51,157 million at July 26, 2026 against the same $22,251 million at January 25, 2026) is 'non_marketable_securities' in the quarterly entry. Each entry uses the name its own filing prints, so these appear as separate rows across annual and quarterly columns rather than as one continuous line.
  • Segment operating income exceeds consolidated operating income because stock-based compensation, corporate infrastructure and support costs, and acquisition-related and other costs are not allocated to the two reportable segments. For the second quarter of fiscal 2027, segment operating income of $66,595 million reconciles to consolidated operating income of $63,734 million through $2,027 million of stock-based compensation, $612 million of unallocated operating expenses and $222 million of acquisition-related and other costs.
  • The annual entries use the end-market revenue presentation of the fiscal 2026 10-K (Data Center, Gaming, Professional Visualization, Automotive, OEM and Other). Beginning with the first quarter of fiscal 2027 NVIDIA moved to a market-platform presentation - Data Center, split into Hyperscale and AI Clouds, Industrial, & Enterprise, plus Edge Computing - and recast the comparable periods, so the quarterly and cumulative entries use that framework. The two presentations are not directly comparable. During the second quarter of fiscal 2027 NVIDIA also reclassified one company from AI Clouds, Industrial, & Enterprise to Hyperscale and recast that company's prior-period revenue, so the Hyperscale and AI Clouds figures shown for earlier periods differ from what was originally published for them.
  • Geographic revenue is presented on a customer-headquarters basis. Revenue from customers headquartered outside the United States was 38% of revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2027 and 30% in the first half. The 10-K notes that in fiscal 2026 an estimated 76% of Data Center revenue from Taiwan-headquartered customers was attributed to end customers based in the United States and Europe, so headquarters location differs from end-customer location.
  • Investing outflows are dominated by investments rather than capital spending. The first half of fiscal 2027 includes $42,404 million of purchases of equity securities and $21,777 million of purchases of debt securities against $4,434 million of capital expenditures; non-marketable securities on the balance sheet rose from $22,251 million at January 25, 2026 to $51,157 million at July 26, 2026, of which $3.3 billion is equity method investments in infrastructure financiers.
  • The 'groq_license_payment' line is NVIDIA's cash flow statement line 'Groq, Inc.', a $2,944 million outflow within financing activities in the first half of fiscal 2027 (Form 10-Q for the quarter ended July 26, 2026, accession 0001045810-26-000075). It is the payment of accrued purchase consideration for the Groq, Inc. non-exclusive license agreement: accrued purchase consideration on the balance sheet fell from $3,921 million at January 25, 2026 to $986 million at July 26, 2026. In fiscal 2026 the same arrangement appeared instead within investing activities, where the 10-K (accession 0001045810-26-000021) carried a separate 'Groq, Inc.' line of $13,000 million; that amount is inside the fiscal 2026 investing total shown above and is not broken out as its own field.
  • On May 18, 2026 NVIDIA raised its quarterly cash dividend from $0.01 to $0.25 per share and its Board approved an additional $80.0 billion of share repurchase authorization. The company paid $6,047 million of dividends and repurchased 94 million shares for $19.7 billion in the second quarter, and had $99.3 billion of repurchase authorization remaining at July 26, 2026.
  • The 'share_repurchases' figures in this report are cash paid, taken from the cash flow statement line 'Payments related to repurchases of common stock' - $19,732 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2027 and $39,044 million in the first half. NVIDIA also quotes the value of the shares it repurchased, which is a different measure: its statement of shareholders' equity and Note 12 put that at $19,674 million for 94 million shares in the second quarter and $39,845 million for 203 million shares in the first half, which NVIDIA rounds to $19.7 billion and $39.8 billion. The quarter looks like a match only because $19,674 million and $19,732 million both round to $19.7 billion.
  • As of July 26, 2026 NVIDIA disclosed $366 billion of future commitments, of which $279 billion is supply and capacity (up from $119 billion a quarter earlier), $29 billion cloud service agreements, $25 billion data center leases not yet commenced, $25 billion equity investments and $8 billion capital expenditures; $120 billion of the total falls in the remainder of fiscal 2027. A further $56 billion of AI cloud agreements and third-party data center leases is disclosed separately, along with guarantees of $108.5 billion, of which $105.0 billion relates to the SB Energy Corp. arrangement entered into in August 2026 - after the quarter these figures cover.
  • Fiscal 2027 is a 53-week year with a 14-week fourth quarter; fiscal 2026 was a 52-week year. The second quarters of both fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2026 were 13-week quarters, so the year-over-year quarterly comparison is like for like.
  • Per-share figures are presented as filed and already reflect the ten-for-one stock split of June 10, 2024 and the four-for-one split of July 20, 2021. Both splits precede every period reported here, and no split adjustment was applied to any figure.
  • The trailing-twelve-month view is arithmetic on the two filings - fiscal 2026 plus the first half of fiscal 2027 less the first half of fiscal 2026 - and is not a figure NVIDIA reports.

Uncertainties

  • The 10-Q reports cash flows only for the six-month periods. The three-month cash flow lines for the quarter ended July 26, 2026 are therefore derived by subtracting the first quarter of fiscal 2027 from the six-month column rather than read from a single printed column. For the quarter ended July 27, 2025 the same subtraction leaves a rounding difference of about $1 million on several lines, so only net income, stock-based compensation, operating cash flow and dividends are reported for that quarter; capital expenditures, free cash flow, depreciation and amortization, investing cash flow, financing cash flow and share repurchases are not.
  • The trailing-twelve-month block is derived arithmetic, not a reported period. Its diluted earnings per share of $7.91 is the sum of the corresponding per-share columns (fiscal 2026 plus the first half of fiscal 2027 less the first half of fiscal 2026); no weighted diluted share count is reported for it, because a twelve-month weighted average spanning two fiscal years is not disclosed. Its effective tax rate of 16.0% is likewise derived, as the trailing-twelve-month income tax expense of $36,863 million divided by trailing-twelve-month pre-tax income of $229,743 million, rather than a rate reported for any filed period.
  • The 10-Q presents balance sheets only as of July 26, 2026 and January 25, 2026. For the quarter ended July 27, 2025, only shareholders' equity and shares outstanding (from the statement of shareholders' equity) and the closing cash balance (from the statement of cash flows) are available; total assets, debt and the remaining balance sheet lines for that date are not on the face of this filing.
  • The fiscal 2026 10-K presents a two-year balance sheet, so the fiscal 2024 entry is limited to total shareholders' equity, shares outstanding and the closing cash balance taken from the equity and cash flow statements. Total assets, debt and other balance sheet lines at January 28, 2024 are not available in the filings covered here.
  • Total debt as reported here is borrowings only. Readers comparing against sources that include operating lease liabilities will see a higher figure; long-term operating lease liabilities were $4,985 million at July 26, 2026 and $2,572 million at January 25, 2026, with the current portion included within accrued and other current liabilities.
  • A large share of reported net income comes from gains on equity securities, most of them unrealized and dependent on the market value of publicly-held and privately-held holdings. Net unrealized gains on publicly-held equity securities still held at period end were $1.5 billion for the quarter and $12.5 billion for the first half of fiscal 2027, and non-marketable equity securities carried cumulative gross unrealized gains of $9.1 billion at July 26, 2026. These amounts can reverse.
  • Segment-level depreciation and amortization disclosed in the segment note ($642 million for Compute & Networking and $204 million for Graphics in the second quarter) excludes acquisition-related intangible amortization, which is not allocated to segments, so the segment amounts do not sum to the consolidated total.

How this page was built

This page was built from four of NVIDIA Corporation's own filings with the SEC, read one at a time. Nothing on it is taken from a pre-tagged dataset, a data vendor or another website. The figures are on the company's own fiscal calendar and in actual dollars, as the filings report them. Where the filings do not support a figure, the record says so instead of reporting a zero; this period names seven such gaps.

A single company files thousands of pages with the SEC in a year, and no two companies file them the same way, so the reading and the assembly here are done by AI rather than by rules that break on the differences. Every pass is then audited back against the filings it came from before the page is published, and anything the filings do not support is left out and named rather than filled in. AI can still make mistakes. That is why the accession numbers are printed: the filing is the authority, and this page is a route to it.
