Notes
- Chubb is a property and casualty insurer with a life insurance business, so this record uses an insurer layout: premiums written and earned, net investment income, losses and expenses, net income and diluted EPS; investments, loss reserves, debt and shareholders' equity; operating cash flow, dividends and buybacks; and the P&C combined ratio. Cost of goods sold and capital expenditure are not meaningful lines for an insurer and are not reported; total revenues are recorded as the statement of operations prints them (net premiums earned, net investment income, net realized gains and losses and market risk benefit gains and losses).
- Fiscal years 2025, 2024 and 2023 come from the FY2025 10-K (accession 0000896159-26-000005). The quarters ended June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2025, and the six-month periods ended on those dates, come from the Q2 FY2026 10-Q (accession 0000896159-26-000017). Chubb's fiscal year is the calendar year.
- All dollar amounts are stored in actual U.S. dollars; the statements print them in millions. Share counts are actual shares, as printed in the earnings-per-share notes and the shareholders' equity note. Ratios are in percent, as printed to one decimal place.
- Net income is the consolidated figure including noncontrolling interests (chiefly the minority shareholders of Huatai Group, which Chubb consolidates). Earnings per share are struck on net income attributable to Chubb, which is reported separately. Diluted shares are the weighted-average shares outstanding and assumed conversions from the earnings-per-share note.
- other_expense_net follows the statement's 'Other (income) expense' line: a negative value is net other income, which reduces total expenses. increase_in_unearned_premiums is negative because it is deducted from net premiums written to arrive at net premiums earned.
- The P&C underwriting ratios come from management's discussion in each filing. Chubb presents them in its non-GAAP reconciliation as P&C performance metrics: they cover the consolidated results excluding the Life Insurance segment, and each ratio is the expense divided by net premiums earned. The CAY (current accident year) combined ratio excluding catastrophe losses also strips out prior period reserve development.
- total_debt_derived is short-term debt plus long-term debt plus hybrid debt as printed on the balance sheet; it excludes repurchase agreements. book_value_per_share_derived is total Chubb shareholders' equity divided by common shares outstanding at the same date (the share count printed in the balance-sheet caption and, for year-ends, in the shareholders' equity note). Neither figure is printed as such in the filings.
- The Q2 FY2025 entry carries only shareholders' equity figures at June 30, 2025, taken from the 10-Q's statement of shareholders' equity; the 10-Q balance sheet compares June 30, 2026 with December 31, 2025, so no full June 30, 2025 balance sheet is printed. FY2023 carries no balance sheet because the FY2025 10-K prints balance sheets for two year-ends only.
- Dividends per share are Chubb's dividend distributions per common share in U.S. dollars. Under Swiss law the dividends are stated in Swiss francs but paid in U.S. dollars; the filings print both, and the U.S. dollar amounts are used here. dividends_paid in the cash flow block is the cash outflow for the period.
- The trailing-twelve-month block is derived, not printed: fiscal 2025 plus the six months ended June 30, 2026, less the six months ended June 30, 2025. It carries no per-share figures because those cannot be summed across periods.
- No stock splits occurred in the periods covered, Chubb's common shares trade directly on the New York Stock Exchange (no ADR conversion), and no currency conversion was needed.
Uncertainties
- No three-month cash flow figures are reported for either quarter. The 10-Q prints its cash flow statement for the six months only, and the first-quarter figures needed to derive the second quarter are not part of these filings; six-month cash flows are in the year-to-date blocks.
- Common shares outstanding at June 30, 2025 are not printed in the Q2 FY2026 10-Q, so the Q2 FY2025 entry has no share count or book value per share.
- Insurance float and an all-lines combined ratio are not reported: the filings do not print either figure, and the P&C ratios shown exclude the Life Insurance segment.

FAQ · Chubb financial statements
How much did Chubb earn in Q2 FY2026?
Chubb Limited reported net income attributable to Chubb of $2.85 billion for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, down 3.8% from $2.97 billion a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share of $7.30, against $7.35. Smaller mark-to-market gains on private equity investments offset growth in underwriting income, Life segment income and net investment income.
What was Chubb's revenue in Q2 FY2026?
Chubb Limited reported total revenues of $15.82 billion for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 6.6% from $14.84 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. Total revenues include net premiums earned, net investment income and realized gains and losses.
What was Chubb's combined ratio in Q2 FY2026?
Chubb's property and casualty combined ratio was 83.8% for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, down 1.8 points from 85.6% a year earlier, mainly because of lower catastrophe losses. The ratio excludes the Life Insurance segment, and a lower figure means more profitable underwriting.
How much did Chubb's net premiums written grow in Q2 FY2026?
Chubb Limited's net premiums written were $14.71 billion for Q2 FY2026, the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 3.6% from $14.20 billion a year earlier. Chubb said underwriting actions in large-account and excess and surplus property held back growth in its commercial business.

How this page was built
This page was built from two of Chubb Limited's own filings with the SEC, read one at a time. Nothing on it is taken from a pre-tagged dataset, a data vendor or another website. The figures are on the company's own fiscal calendar and in actual dollars, as the filings report them. Where the filings do not support a figure, the record says so instead of reporting a zero; this period names three such gaps.
A single company files thousands of pages with the SEC in a year, and no two companies file them the same way, so the reading and the assembly here are done by AI rather than by rules that break on the differences. Every pass is then audited back against the filings it came from before the page is published, and anything the filings do not support is left out and named rather than filled in. AI can still make mistakes. That is why the accession numbers are printed: the filing is the authority, and this page is a route to it.
