Microsoft reported $331.84 billion in revenue for FY2026, the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, up 17.8% from a year earlier on growth in Azure and the rest of its commercial cloud. Operating income was $155.24 billion, up 20.8%, while net income of $133.75 billion and diluted earnings per share of $17.95 grew faster still, up 31.3% and up 31.6%, helped by net gains on Microsoft's investment in OpenAI in a year that followed net losses on that stake. Free cash flow was $66.99 billion, down 6.5%, as record capital spending on AI datacenters absorbed most of a sharply higher operating cash flow.

Notes
- All figures are stated in actual U.S. dollars. The filings present their statements in millions (and per-share amounts in dollars); those millions have been scaled to whole dollars here, and share counts, which the filings also state in millions, have been scaled the same way.
- Fiscal 2026 is new this year and comes from the Form 10-K for the year ended June 30, 2026 (accession 0001193125-26-323660), filed July 29, 2026. That 10-K's income statement, cash flow statement and stockholders' equity statement each present three fiscal years (2026, 2025 and 2024); its balance sheets present only June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2025.
- Restatement honored: the FY2026 10-K states that Microsoft recast certain prior-period amounts on its consolidated cash flow statements to conform to the current presentation. The recast moves amounts between two lines inside the reconciliation of net income to operating cash flow. For fiscal 2025, 'Depreciation, amortization, and other' is now $29.4 billion rather than the $34.2 billion previously reported, and 'Net recognized losses on investments and derivatives' is now $5.3 billion rather than $0.6 billion - a $4.7 billion shift between the two lines. For fiscal 2024 the same shift is $1.3 billion: depreciation, amortization and other is now $21.0 billion rather than $22.3 billion, and net recognized losses on investments and derivatives is now $1.6 billion rather than $0.3 billion. Fiscal 2025 and fiscal 2024 are therefore republished here on the corrected basis; the recast has no effect on the balance sheets, the income statements, or net cash from operations, investing or financing in any year, all of which were re-checked line by line against the FY2026 10-K and are unchanged.
- The fiscal 2023 cash flow statement is not presented in the FY2026 10-K and so remains on the basis reported in the FY2025 10-K. Its 'depreciation, amortization, and other' and 'net recognized losses on investments and derivatives' lines are therefore not directly comparable with the recast fiscal 2024 through fiscal 2026 figures; total operating cash flow is unaffected.
- Fiscal 2023 figures come from the FY2025 10-K (accession 0000950170-25-100235). No full fiscal 2023 balance sheet is available because that 10-K presents only two balance sheet dates; only the June 30, 2023 cash balance (from the cash flow statement) and total stockholders' equity of $206.2 billion (from the stockholders' equity statement) are shown. The June 30, 2024 balance sheet and fiscal 2024 total dividends declared likewise come from the FY2025 10-K, since the FY2026 10-K no longer presents them.
- The fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 (April 1 to June 30, 2026) is taken from Exhibit 99.1 to the Form 8-K filed July 29, 2026 (accession 0001193125-26-323632), Microsoft's fourth-quarter and full-year earnings release, which presents explicit three-month columns for income statement, cash flow and segment results. Those columns are labelled unaudited: a fourth quarter is not itself a separately audited period, and the auditors' opinion covers the full fiscal year rather than any single quarter. As a consistency check, the earnings release's twelve-month columns agree line for line with the audited FY2026 10-K, and the quarter's revenue, operating income, net income, operating cash flow and capital expenditures each equal the full fiscal year less the nine months ended March 31, 2026 reported in the March 2026 Form 10-Q.
- Revenue trend: total revenue grew from $211.9 billion in fiscal 2023 to $245.1 billion in fiscal 2024, $281.7 billion in fiscal 2025 and $331.8 billion in fiscal 2026 - an 18% increase in the latest year. Operating income rose from $88.5 billion to $109.4 billion, $128.5 billion and $155.2 billion across those four years, with the operating margin widening from 41.8% to 46.8%. Net income reached $133.7 billion in fiscal 2026, helped by a swing in other income (expense), net.
- Capital intensity has risen sharply. Additions to property and equipment were $28.1 billion in fiscal 2023, $44.5 billion in fiscal 2024, $64.6 billion in fiscal 2025 and $115.9 billion in fiscal 2026 - $35.8 billion in the fourth quarter alone. Free cash flow shown here is net cash from operations less additions to property and equipment; on that basis it was $59.5 billion, $74.1 billion, $71.6 billion and $67.0 billion in fiscal 2023 through fiscal 2026, so operating cash flow growth of 34% in fiscal 2026 was more than absorbed by the capital programme.
- Free cash flow as presented here deliberately excludes finance lease principal payments, which Microsoft uses heavily for datacenter capacity. Total finance lease liabilities grew from $27.1 billion at June 30, 2024 to $46.2 billion at June 30, 2025 and $66.6 billion at June 30, 2026, and financing cash outflows for finance leases were $3.1 billion in fiscal 2026. The FY2026 10-K also discloses $329.1 billion of additional leases, primarily datacenters, that had been signed but had not yet commenced at June 30, 2026 and that will begin between fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2033. The cash flow statement's capital expenditure line therefore understates the full economic cost of the infrastructure build-out.
- Debt figures: the balance sheet line 'total borrowings' shown here sums short-term debt (commercial paper), the current portion of long-term debt and long-term debt. That was $51.6 billion at June 30, 2024 (including $6.7 billion of commercial paper), $43.2 billion at June 30, 2025 and $40.3 billion at June 30, 2026, with no commercial paper outstanding at either of the latter two dates. The mix shifted toward the near term in fiscal 2026: $9.2 billion of the total is now the current portion, against $3.0 billion a year earlier. Operating and finance lease liabilities are reported separately and are not included in that borrowings total.
- Other income (expense), net was a positive $10.7 billion in fiscal 2026 against a negative $4.9 billion in fiscal 2025. The FY2026 10-K states that this includes $6.5 billion of net gains from Microsoft's investments in OpenAI in fiscal 2026 (versus $4.8 billion of net losses in fiscal 2025 and $1.5 billion of net losses in fiscal 2024), primarily a dilution gain from the OpenAI recapitalization. These are non-operating items and do not affect operating income; unrealized gains on equity investments still held added a further $4.4 billion in fiscal 2026.
- Segment and product-line labels: in August 2024 Microsoft changed the composition of its reportable segments and recast prior-period segment amounts, so the fiscal 2024 and 2023 segment figures shown here are the recast amounts. In the FY2026 10-K two product lines were renamed - 'Gaming' became 'XBOX' and 'Search and news advertising' became 'Search advertising'. The fiscal 2024 through 2026 rows here use the current names; the fiscal 2023 rows keep the older labels the FY2025 10-K used for the same lines, so 'gaming' in fiscal 2023 and 'XBOX' from fiscal 2024 onward describe the same business, as do 'search and news advertising' and 'search advertising'.
- The March 2026 Form 10-Q likewise stated that certain prior-period amounts on its cash flow statements were recast to conform to the then-current presentation, with no impact on the balance sheets, the income statements, or net cash from operating, investing or financing activities. The nine-months-ended March 31, 2025 cash flow figures shown here are those recast amounts.
- Microsoft Cloud revenue is disclosed in the filings only to the nearest tenth of a billion dollars ($214.4 billion, $168.9 billion, $137.7 billion and $111.6 billion for fiscal 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023). The values here reflect that rounding and are labelled as approximate. The earnings release gives only a growth rate (27%) for the fourth quarter, so no dollar figure for Microsoft Cloud is shown for that quarter.
- Dividends: cash dividends declared per share were $2.72, $3.00, $3.32 and $3.64 for fiscal 2023 through fiscal 2026, with the fiscal 2026 quarterly rate at $0.91. Declared and paid amounts differ within a period because Microsoft's fourth-quarter dividend is declared in June and paid in the following September; the $6.8 billion dividend declared on June 10, 2026 sits in other current liabilities at June 30, 2026.
- Because Microsoft's fiscal year ended on June 30, 2026, the fiscal-2026 year-to-date view is the full fiscal year, and trailing twelve months as of June 30, 2026 is the same period. Both are the fiscal 2026 column shown above - revenue $331.8 billion, operating income $155.2 billion, net income $133.7 billion, operating cash flow $182.9 billion - so they are not repeated as separate rows.
- Share count: 7,427 million shares were outstanding at June 30, 2026, down from 7,434 million a year earlier, after 29 million shares issued and 36 million repurchased during the year. The FY2026 10-K's cover page reports 7,425,545,491 shares outstanding as of July 23, 2026. Microsoft repurchased $16.7 billion of stock under its buyback programmes during fiscal 2026 plus $5.6 billion of shares withheld to settle employee tax obligations on vesting awards, and $40.6 billion remained of the $60.0 billion programme authorized in September 2024.
Uncertainties
- The three months ended June 30, 2026 shown in the quarterly section is taken from Microsoft's earnings release, where those columns are marked unaudited. A fourth quarter is not a separately audited period, and readers should treat it accordingly even though it reconciles exactly to the audited full year less the reviewed nine-month figures.
- Fiscal 2025 total dividends declared is reported here as $24,676 million, the figure in the FY2026 10-K's dividend note. The FY2025 10-K's dividend note gave $24,678 million and the FY2026 10-K's stockholders' equity statement charges $24,677 million to retained earnings. The differences of $1 million to $2 million arise because the dividend note totals individually rounded quarterly declarations while the equity statement carries the amount actually charged to retained earnings; the more recent filing's figure is used.
- Fiscal 2024 total dividends declared ($22,295 million) is taken from the FY2025 10-K's dividend note, because the FY2026 10-K's dividend note covers only fiscal 2026 and 2025. The FY2026 10-K's stockholders' equity statement charges $22,293 million to retained earnings for that year, a $2 million difference on the same rounding basis described above. Fiscal 2023 total dividends declared ($20,226 million) comes from the FY2025 10-K's stockholders' equity statement and so is on the retained-earnings basis rather than the dividend-note basis.
- The fiscal 2023 cash flow statement is presented on the pre-recast basis, since no filing in this compilation restates it. Comparing its 'depreciation, amortization, and other' and 'net recognized losses on investments and derivatives' lines with fiscal 2024 through 2026 is not like for like.
- No full balance sheet is available for June 30, 2023, because the FY2025 10-K presents only two balance sheet dates. Only cash and cash equivalents and total stockholders' equity are reported for that date. The June 30, 2024 balance sheet is likewise carried from the FY2025 10-K rather than re-read from the FY2026 10-K, which no longer presents it.
- Revenue by product and service, revenue by geography and Microsoft Cloud revenue are annual disclosures in the 10-K, and the earnings release does not break them out for the quarter, so they are not shown for the three months ended June 30, 2026.
- Microsoft Cloud revenue figures carry the filings' own rounding to the nearest $0.1 billion and should not be treated as exact.
- More Personal Computing segment revenue for the nine months ended March 31, 2026 and for the nine months ended March 31, 2025 is $41,198 million in both periods. This identical figure is what the March 2026 10-Q prints, and it is consistent with the segment columns summing to consolidated revenue in both periods; it is flagged here only because an exact match across two years is unusual. For the full fiscal years the two figures do differ ($54,052 million in fiscal 2026 against $54,649 million in fiscal 2025).
- Quarterly figures for the first and second quarters of fiscal 2026 individually are not reported here; the March 2026 10-Q's columns cover the three months ended March 31, 2026 and the nine months then ended, neither of which isolates an earlier quarter, and the earlier fiscal 2026 quarterly reports were outside the scope of this compilation. The nine months ended March 31, 2026 and the three months ended June 30, 2026 together cover the full fiscal year.

FAQ · Microsoft financial statements
How much revenue did Microsoft report in FY2026?
Microsoft reported $331.84 billion in revenue for FY2026, the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026. That is up 17.8% from $281.72 billion a year earlier.
What were Microsoft's net income and earnings per share in FY2026?
Microsoft earned $133.75 billion in net income in FY2026, up 31.3% from $101.83 billion a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share of $17.95 against $13.64.
Why did Microsoft's profit grow faster than its revenue in FY2026?
Microsoft's operating income was $155.24 billion in FY2026, up 20.8% from $128.53 billion, while net income was $133.75 billion, up 31.3%. The wider gain in net income came partly from outside the operating business, mainly net gains on Microsoft's investment in OpenAI in a year that followed net losses on that stake.
What was Microsoft's free cash flow in FY2026?
Microsoft generated $66.99 billion of free cash flow in FY2026, down 6.5% from $71.61 billion a year earlier, because additions to property and equipment for AI and cloud datacenters grew faster than cash from operations.

How this page was built
This page was built from four of Microsoft Corporation's own filings with the SEC, two Forms 10-K, one Form 10-Q and one Form 8-K, read one at a time. Nothing on it is taken from a pre-tagged dataset, a data vendor or another website. The figures are on the company's own fiscal calendar and in actual dollars, as the filings report them. Where the filings do not support a figure, the record says so instead of reporting a zero; this period names nine such gaps.
A single company files thousands of pages with the SEC in a year, and no two companies file them the same way, so the reading and the assembly here are done by AI rather than by rules that break on the differences. Every pass is then audited back against the filings it came from before the page is published, and anything the filings do not support is left out and named rather than filled in. AI can still make mistakes. That is why the accession numbers are printed: the filing is the authority, and this page is a route to it.
