General Motors reported $50.02 billion in total net sales and revenue for Q3 FY2026, the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 2.9% from a year earlier, and net income attributable to stockholders of $3.33 billion, up from $1.33 billion. Diluted earnings per share were $3.73 against $1.35; much of that jump reflects electric-vehicle realignment charges that weighed on the year-ago quarter. GM North America, its largest segment, lifted EBIT-adjusted to $3.59 billion, up 43.3%, mainly on lower costs led by warranty expense.

Notes
- Annual figures for FY2025, FY2024 and FY2023 (income statement and cash flows) and the December 31, 2025 and 2024 balance sheets come from the FY2025 Form 10-K (accession 0001467858-26-000013). Q3 2026, Q3 2025, the nine-month periods and the September 30, 2026 balance sheet come from the Q3 2026 Form 10-Q (accession 0001467858-26-000059). The 10-Q's December 31, 2025 balance sheet column matches the 10-K's on every line recorded here.
- The 10-K's balance sheet shows two year-ends, so FY2023 carries an income statement and cash flows but no balance sheet. Q3 2025 carries no balance sheet because the 10-Q does not present one at September 30, 2025.
- GM's income statement has no cost-of-revenue or gross-profit line: it reports Automotive and GM Financial revenue, then Automotive and other cost of sales, GM Financial interest, operating and other expenses, and Automotive and other selling, general and administrative expense. The record follows that presentation rather than constructing a gross profit.
- GM prints three net income lines. Net income attributable to stockholders is its reported bottom line; EPS is computed on net income attributable to common stockholders, which adds the adjustments in the earnings-per-share note. Those adjustments include a $593 million return from the preferred shareholders related to the redemption of Cruise preferred shares from noncontrolling interest holders in 2025 (recognised in the nine months ended September 30, 2025) and $1.2 billion in 2024, which is why income attributable to common stockholders exceeds income attributable to stockholders in FY2025, FY2024 and the nine months ended September 30, 2025.
- Cash flow figures keep the sign the statement prints: outflows such as expenditures for property, purchases of finance receivables and leased vehicles, debt payments, share repurchases and dividends are negative.
- The 10-Q prints its cash flow statement for the nine months only. Three-month capital expenditures for Q3 2026 ($2,346 million) and Q3 2025 ($2,130 million) are taken from the Total column of the 10-Q's segment note, which prints them as positive amounts; they are recorded as outflows to match the cash flow statement. No three-month consolidated operating cash flow is printed in the 10-Q, so the quarters carry none.
- No free cash flow figure is recorded. GM's consolidated operating cash flow includes GM Financial, whose purchases of leased vehicles and finance receivables run through investing activities, so operating cash flow less expenditures for property would not be a meaningful free cash flow for this business. GM reports its own non-GAAP adjusted automotive free cash flow measure; it is not reproduced here.
- Total debt is the sum of the four debt lines on the balance sheet: Automotive and GM Financial short-term debt and current portion of long-term debt, and Automotive and GM Financial long-term debt. Most of it belongs to GM Financial, the financing arm: at September 30, 2026, $112.9 billion of the $128.7 billion total.
- The trailing-twelve-month figures are derived, not printed: FY2025 (10-K) plus the nine months ended September 30, 2026, less the nine months ended September 30, 2025 (both 10-Q). Per-share figures, share counts and the period-end cash balance are not additive and are omitted from that block.
- Segment revenue and EBIT-adjusted come from the segment notes. GM Financial's segment revenue differs slightly from the GM Financial line on the income statement (for example $4,312 million against $4,309 million in Q3 2026) because intercompany eliminations sit outside the segments. Cruise is reported as a segment in FY2023 through FY2025 and in the nine months ended September 30, 2025; GM combined the GM and Cruise autonomous technical efforts in its GMNA segment in 2025, and the Q3 2025 and Q3 2026 segment tables report no Cruise revenue or EBIT-adjusted.
- Dividends declared per common share come from the stockholders' equity notes. Cash dividends paid on common stock and dividends to noncontrolling interests come from the statements of equity, which print them as reductions of equity, and are recorded as negative outflows; the equity notes state the same common-dividend totals as positive amounts. The cash flow statement's Dividends paid line is larger than common dividends alone, and the statements of equity itemize the difference as dividends to noncontrolling interests. For the full years it reconciles exactly: $538 million plus $119 million is $657 million in FY2025, $530 million plus $123 million is $653 million in FY2024, and $477 million plus $120 million is $597 million in FY2023. In the nine months ended September 30, 2026, common dividends of $480 million and dividends to noncontrolling interests of $507 million ($40 million in the first quarter and $467 million in the second) account for all but $59 million of the $1,046 million of Dividends paid; in the nine months ended September 30, 2025, $401 million and $59 million (in the second quarter) account for all but $59 million of $519 million. The statements of equity print no dividends to noncontrolling interests in the third quarter of either year, so no quarterly figure is recorded.
- Share counts are weighted averages printed in millions and are recorded in actual shares. GM has had no stock split in the periods covered, and its shares are not ADRs.
Uncertainties
- Three-month operating cash flow for Q3 2026 and Q3 2025 is not printed in the 10-Q and is not recorded; it could only be derived by subtracting a six-month figure from a filing outside this record.

How this page was built
This page was built from two of General Motors Company's own filings with the SEC, read one at a time. Nothing on it is taken from a pre-tagged dataset, a data vendor or another website. The figures are on the company's own fiscal calendar and in actual dollars, as the filings report them. Where the filings do not support a figure, the record says so instead of reporting a zero; this period names one such gap.
A single company files thousands of pages with the SEC in a year, and no two companies file them the same way, so the reading and the assembly here are done by AI rather than by rules that break on the differences. Every pass is then audited back against the filings it came from before the page is published, and anything the filings do not support is left out and named rather than filled in. AI can still make mistakes. That is why the accession numbers are printed: the filing is the authority, and this page is a route to it.
